According to our sources, the employee opened up the shop shortly after 7am. Shortly after deactivating the alarm, the shopkeeper was surprised by two tallish black men and was held at knife point.
The two men demanded cash, took him to the safe, grabbed the money and fled immediately. There is no doubt that it was a planned robbery as the shop’s money is collected on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The robbers fled with an estimated amount of R3500.
The employee was not injured, apart from the knife’s marks in his neck.
The suspects are still at large. Look4it Knysna was not able to interview media spokesperson Constable Chris Spies since he was “not available for the afternoon”.
